Why so convivial

Why So Convivial you might ask????

Well it started July 5th many years ago.  My long time friends and I had a raucous Fourth of July BBQ/Party and finally wound things down between 2 and 4 in the morning.  Being the responsible people that we are everyone stayed over (prefer to prevent DUI’s when possible).  Many of us had fallen asleep in the living room with the history channel on. Yes we are all a little nerdy but that is endearing right?

Around 7 am we started waking up and the History Channel had a great program on about Abraham Lincoln where they referred to him as being “convivial”.  None of us knew the word so we looked it up and to our glee it meant:

“Of or relating to a feast or entertainment, or to eating and drinking, with accompanying festivity; festive; social; gay; jovial.” (Wiktionary, http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/convivial)

Being a houseful of lesbians at that time we were amused that this unknown word could mean gay!  Naturally we began using convivial in our daily conversations and when referring to our sexuality.

Fast forward to the present, I am engaged to a beautiful woman that balances me out and we are planning a convivial event!  We will be bringing family and friends together from all over the country and hopefully a few corners of the world, our only goal is to have a fun weekend for everyone involved.  We want it to be “so convivial” and I want to invite you along on our journey…
